You don't have to pay $60 dollars for the beta. It is $5 minimum for pre-order and then you get the code. If you like the game then its $55 plus taxes.
HOWEVER you already plan on buying the game so the beta is nothing more but an incentive for your part.

I'm looking at this and thinking of 8 hours of download time for me. I bought a few games of steam and 3-5 GBs of game download took around 4 hours so that's my guesstimate.
But really how can a game company be satisfied with that idea? I buy the game and now have to wait a few more hours to start playing, plus add on the install time for the Xbox one which is ridiculously slow!!

I have to agree with you on this, and I love battlefield games. But this does feel like a battlefield BC2 Vietnam kinda expansion. There's nothing unique about it or something that makes me want to buy it. If anything I'll get it when blackfriday hits or some other special.
Also there's little to no destruction except for obvious walls, at least on the beta, but this can't be called Battlefield when it has little destruction.

Yeah they are not free. But they sure as hell will save you the trip to your video game store or downloading it.

Something similar to Defiance will be great. Whenever the community event started I always saw a bunch of vehicles driving to it's location, a huge alert in my screen and the option to track it. About the one good thing I liked in that game.
Well only BF4 was about the one game that took the leap from 360 to X1 and Ps3 to Ps4. But of course that did result in the BF4 that we all remembered, buggy and all those things.

I don't understand the idea of all being the same to different consoles. Obviously there's a technical leap and the lesser should have what it can deserve and give the higher consoles what they deserve also.

I gotta admit for it being on an Alpha the game is really really polished and entertaining. I've seen few bugs, nothing game breaking, and participated on a raid with a few random people and that was pretty awesome. The PVP part also catches my attention, though the game needs some balancing as some rifles do a huge amount of damage.... that or I don't have enough armor.
All in all the game is a good mix of Halo feel, with some mass effect powers and a world like B...
Question: If I have PS+ doesn't that grant me beta access on the PS4?? Or do I have to pre-order?? I'm not being a cheap bastard, I'm just assuming I'll get the code regardless.
